The Unified Mission Changed Saul Into Paul

1. When Unified in the Mission, God Can Use Us To Open Eyes.

As he neared Damascus on his journey, suddenly a light from heaven flashed around him.

Acts 9:3

Lord, Ananias answered, 'I have heard many reports about this man…' But the Lord said… 'Go! This man is my chosen instrument.'

Acts 9:13,15

Then Ananias went… Placing his hands on Saul, he said, 'Brother Saul…' Immediately, something like scales fell from Saul’s eyes.

2. When Unified in the Mission, We Help Outsiders Belong.

When he came to Jerusalem, he tried to join the disciples, but they were all afraid of him, But Barnabas took him & brought him to the apostles.

Acts 9:26

They praised God because of me.

Galatians 1:24

Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God.

Romans 15:7

You are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God’s people.

3. When Unified in the Mission, We Empower Others to Live Their Purpose.

After many days had gone by, there was a conspiracy to kill him… but his followers took him by night and lowered him in a basket through an opening in the wall.

Acts 9:23–25

Paul and Barnabas appointed elders… with prayer and fasting, committing them to the Lord.

Acts 14:23

However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task…

And we urge you, brothers and sisters, warn those who are idle and disruptive, encourage the disheartened, help the weak…

4. When Unified in the Mission, We Become An Unstoppable Force.

But the word of God continued to spread and flourish.

Acts 12:24

They preached the gospel in that city and won a large number of disciples. Then they returned... strengthening the disciples and encouraging them to remain true to the faith.

Acts 14:21–22

These men who have caused trouble all over the world have now come here...

Acts 17:6

Paul stayed two whole years in his own rented house... proclaiming the kingdom of God and teaching about the Lord Jesus Christ—with all boldness and without hindrance!

Acts 28:30–31

Historically, within just 30 years of Jesus’ resurrection, the gospel had spread to major cities across Asia, Europe, and Africa. Paul played a central role. He traveled more than 10,000 miles by land and sea, endured beatings and imprisonment, and still wouldn’t stop. Why? Because the mission burned inside him—and because the church stood behind him. Unified, they became unstoppable.
