Why should I strive to build a faith like Noah’s?

1. Because Noah’s faith PLEASED GOD.

“So he said, “I will wipe off the face of the earth these humans that I created. I will wipe out not only humans, but also domestic animals, crawling animals, and birds. I’m sorry that I made them.” But the Lord was pleased with Noah.”

2. Because of the IMPACT of Noah’s faith.

“Faith led Noah to listen when God warned him about the things in the future that he could not see. He obeyed God and built a ship to save his family. Through faith Noah condemned the world and received God’s approval that comes through faith.”

HOW TO BUILD A FAITH THAT PLEASES GOD AND IMPACTS PEOPLE:

1. I choose to ACCEPT that I must be DIFFERENT.

“But Noah was different. God liked what he saw in Noah.”

“You spent enough time in the past doing what unbelievers like to do. You were promiscuous, had sinful desires, got drunk, went to wild parties, and took part in the forbidden worship of false gods. Unbelievers insult you now because they are surprised that you no longer join them in the same excesses of wild living. They will give an account to the one who is ready to judge the living and the dead.”

2. I choose to LISTEN to God’s voice WITH URGENCY.

“Noah did everything exactly as God commanded him.”

For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. 3. I choose to PERSIST even when it SEEMS POINTLESS.

“So since we stand surrounded by all those who have gone before, an enormous cloud of witnesses, let us drop every extra weight, every sin that clings to us and slackens our pace, and let us run with endurance the long race set before us.”
