Remember The Stories of Jesus

You Are a Light

“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.

Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead, they

put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the

same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your

good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”

Matthew 5:14-16

I Was Meant To Be A Light For Others

“You are the light of the world.”

Matthew 5:14

“For God, said, ‘Let light shine out of darkness,’ made his light shine in

our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God’s glory displayed

in the face of Christ. We have this treasure in jars of clay to show that

this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us.”

2 Corinthians 4:6-7

“Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises

upon you. See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the

peoples, but the Lord rises upon you and his glory appears over you.

Nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your

dawn.”

Isaiah 60:1-3

My Light Was Never Meant To Be Hidden, What Can Hide My Light?

Fear & Timidity

“For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power,

love and self-discipline. So do not be ashamed of the testimony about

our Lord…”

2 Timothy 1:7-8

Whoever acknowledges me before others, I will also acknowledge

before my Father in heaven. But whoever disowns me before others, I

will disown before my Father in heaven.”

Matthew 10:32-33

Negativity

“Do all things without grumbling or disputing; so that you will prove

yourselves to be blameless and innocent, children of God above

reproach in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among

whom you appear as lights in the world,”

Philippians 2:14-15

Hypocrisy

“How terrible it will be for you legal experts and Pharisees! Hypocrites!

You shut people out of the kingdom of heaven. You don’t enter

yourselves, and you won’t allow those who want to enter to do so.

“How terrible it will be for you…Hypocrites! You travel over sea and

land to make one convert. But when they’ve been converted, they

become twice the child of hell you are.”

Matthew 23:13, 15

My Light Can Be Made More Visible When I…

Love God’s People

I give you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved

you, so you also must love each other. This is how everyone will know

that you are my disciples, when you love each other.”” John 13:34-35

Obey & Live Right

“Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of

doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day

he visits us.”

1 Peter 2:12

“For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as

children of light.”

Ephesians 5:8

Show Wisdom & Grace

“Act wisely toward outsiders, making the most of the opportunity. Your

speech should always be gracious and sprinkled with insight so that you

may know how to respond to every person.”

Colossians 4:5-6

Open My Mouth

“How can people call on him if they have not believed in him? How can

they believe in him if they have not heard his message? How can they

hear if no one tells the Good News? How can people tell the Good

News if no one sends them? As Scripture says, “How beautiful are the

feet of the messengers who announce the Good News.”

Romans 10:14-15

15  But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an

answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that

you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, 16  keeping a clear

conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good

behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander.

1 Peter 3:15-16

“Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the

name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them

to obey everything that I’ve commanded you. Look, I myself will be with

you every day until the end of this present age.”

Matthew 28:19-20
